The Truth about the 2017 Honda Civic Type R
When Honda announced the Civic Type R would be sold in the US starting with it's 2017 model, import enthusiasts were excited. That excitement quickly went away after the Type R first went on sale and dealers across the nation were asking as much as $25k over sticker. That's a $60k Honda civic, that starts at $35k MSRP. Even worse, is that people are buying them for those outrageous prices!
Many say the Civic Type R looks like a Subaru and it's performance competes with the Golf R and Focus RS. But there are many let downs, sure the turbo charged 2 litre 4 cylinder produces 306 horsepower at 6,500rpm and that is respectable for a small engine. The interior looks like a "ricers wet dream" and the car sounds horrible. Even the launch control is a major let down, because it only allows you to leave at 3,500 rpm and it's bogs off the line which kills 0-60 acceleration.
