Review: 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 LT1
The 7th generation Chevrolet Corvette has been a supercar killer and the Z06 & ZR1 are perhaps supercars themselves. But not everyone has over $100k to spend on a Corvette but most people probably want one! So that gives us the Corvette Z51, which is one of the cheaper models of 2017 Corvette's. The Z51 comes with 3 trims; 1LT starting at $61,445, 2LT-$65,000 and the 3LT-$71,190. All three trims are powered by the same 6.2 Liter new LT1 V8 producing 460 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 465 ft-lbs of torque at 4,600 rpm. The two transmission options are a 7 speed manual or the 8 speed paddle shift able automatic. The paddle shifters are actually rather slow and compared to the supercars of the world, but it still adds a fun factor for the automatic. This drive train rockets the Z51 from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
2017 Corvette Z51 Features Worth Mentioning
First off the Z51 features 5 different driving modes which adjusts throttle response, steering sensitivity and the exhaust butterfly valves. Staggered wheels plant this Corvette to ground with 19×8.5" wheels up front and 20×10" wheels on the rear. On the rear of the car is a Z51 unique spoiler. Of course the Corvette had speed limit recognition to help you from getting tickets, maybe. The interior has optional suede and controls are angled toward the driver for optional comfort and ease of control. So check out the video review below for al the details and sounds.
