How Did The Dodge Viper ACR Break 13 Lap Records?
The Dodge Viper ACR has smashed 13 different track records this year. This video done by Motor Trend takes the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, with it's 8.4L V10 engine producing 645 HP, with the car weighing 3,368 lbs(50/50%). The Viper ACR produces 1200+ lbs of downforce at 150 mph, and it has special Kumho Ecsta V720 tires designed specifically for the ACR which help give it a skidpad rating of 1.15 g's. The 2016 Viper ACR base price is $119,995 MSRP. Motor Trend also compared the Viper ACR to the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette ZO6, which has a 6.2L V8 engine producing 650 HP, with a weight of 3,499 lbs(51/49%). The 2015 Corvette ZO6 base price is $80,385 MSRP. Testing was done at the famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Professtional driver and SCCA Hall of Famer Randy Pobst takes the two cars for a spin. Randy was impressed with the Viper ACR and said "It's shocking that a Viper could be this good!" and "The beast has been tamed".
