Dale Earnhardt Jr Reveals Retirement Plans
Nascar's Most Popular Driver Out For 2016!
The Earnhardt name is one of the biggest in racing. Starting with Dale Earnhardt Sr's success winning 7 Cup Championships making the black #3 an icon forever. Though Dale Jr has followed in some pretty big footsteps he hasn't had the same success as his father. But he is still one of the sports best drivers. He is a proven contender and a future hall a fame driver himself. About a week ago race fans heard that Dale Jr will be out for the rest of the 2016 season, giving himself time to fully recover from a previous concussion. During the press conference he let loose about his plans for retirement.
“I’m only 41,” He said talking to the AP. “I’ve got some good years left. I think I’m as good as I’ve been inside the car. I feel like I’m still an asset to the team and to the company.”
Retirement “is not something I think about”, he added talking to ESPN.
So Dale Jr doesn't plan to retire from driving a racecar anytime soon. Hopefully his brain health can keep him going for many years to come. As Nascar's most popular driver race fans would sure miss him behind the wheel! After Dale's concussion and missing many races earlier this year many fans were afraid he was going to call it quits. Thankfully Earnhardt Jr is getting healthy and ready for many more years of racing. Fans hope to see him win his first Cup championship very soon!
