Big Chief Crow Mod Almost Ready To Race!
Jeff Lutz Fabricates Turbo System for Crow Mod
Big Chief and Jeff Lutz in the video below talk about the progress they've made with the Crow Mod. After explaining a few things there is a cool time lapse video of Jeff Lutz fabricating the turbo system for the Crow Mod. After this Big Chief is waiting on a new throttle body along with doing some plumbing and wiring. It's almost ready to race and expected to be out on "kill" in January. Big Chief says the Crow Mod will be out running 3's. That must mean that the Crow Mod is expected to run 3 seconds in the 1/8 mile. That equals right around a 6 seconds 1/4 mile time and that is straight moving! Well we'd like to hope that he'll be running some series fast time's now that Big Chief has a "Street" Pro Mod. He claims that once down the car will have working lights, be street legal and driven to and from work everyday! But time will tell…..
"Street" Crow Mod
It took Jeff Lutz 2 days to fabricate the turbo system. They're using the same 88mm Turbos that were on the crow when Big Chief raced John Doe for 20k at the Outlaw Armageddon No Prep event this past summer. As some of you may know He hurt the engine in that race and had to do a small refresh of his Butler Pontiac 482 Block. During that time he decided to upgrade the turbo's as well. But those turbo's were ruined in his wreck with Brian "Chucky" Davis. –More Details On that Crash Here– Also the same power plant from The Crow will be used. It's a Butler Pontiac 482 that rev's to 9k rpm. According to Big Chief it has "crappy" Edelbrock Performer RPM Racing Heads and 1 7/8 inch stainless headers. He also stated that he'd be running around 50lbs of boost through his 88mm Turbo's. So check out the video below and enjoy the time lapse of Jeff Lutz fabricating the Crow Mod's turbo system

I'm glad your almost ready to race again. I'm ready to see it run. I'm building a twin turbo BBF for my 68 fastback. I look forward to meeting you one day and maybe pulling beside you. Yes I know Kye Kelly and John Doe. There friends of mine. But I'm sure in the end we all will race each other one time or another. Thanks.
It sounds like you have a bad machine you're putting together there! If you think you have what it takes for Big Chief check out this post to see how you can go about contacting him for a race! http://www.epicspeed.net/big-chief-calls-out-everyone-and-tuff-enuff-from-chi-town/
What the heck? So Big Chief said "Fuck a pro mod!" But now has one? Well I guess if you can't beat them, then join them? I think that's BS man! Atleast you could of bought a real Firebird and then built that? This is more like a funny car! Oh well good luck I guess? I think the new show Street Outlaws New Orleans looks more exciting! We'll see? I'm still a fan thought! Good Luck !
Do you understand that Kye drives a promod as well? Why would his promod be more exciting than the crow?
3 second 1/8 mile and 6 second 1/4 mile? More like 5.20 to 5.40 1/4 mile. If that car hit 150 mph in the 1/8th it would need to stop accelerating to take 3 seconds to cover the next 660 feet. 150mph=220fps 220X3=660. I doubt that car would quit accelerating especially if geared properly for 1/4 mile
If Joe strapped his ass in the CrowPro. There would be PoPo in his pants.
