World’s First 2016 Camaro SS Twin Turbo Makes 657rwhp
Redline Motorsports Completes First Twin Turbo 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS
Both the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Camaro SS share the same 6.2 Liter LT1 V8 rated to produce 455 horsepower & 455 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 Camaro SS is the most powerful ever built. But for performance enthusiast everywhere that'll probably not be enough! Redline Motorsports set out to be the first shop to Twin Turbochargers the new Generation 6 Camaro; and they did just that increasing the power about 40% over stock making 657 horsepower and 633 lb-ft or torque to the rear wheels. The stock SS puts down on the dyno about 400 rear wheel horsepower.
2016 Camaro SS Turbo Kit
The Redline Motorsports team built the intercooled twin turbo system from scratch, which the video below shows us a few views of just how they went about doing so. This is a fully stock 6.2 liter engine in the Camaro SS with a twin turbo kit adding an additional 250 rear wheel horsepower. Pretty impressive without any other modifications and only running 9 pounds of boost. Redline said they maxed out the stock fuel system which proved to be a major limiting factor. They say with a few supporting mods upwards of 15 pounds of boost could be achieved with an expectation of over 800 rear wheel horsepower on a stock internal motor. Check out Redline Motorsports for more information on this twin turbo package.
