747 RWHP Phase 1 2015 Roush Mustang GT

Ford Mustang's are one of the most commonly customized cars in the US today. In the enthusiast world of Mustang tuning, few names are well known and as respected as Roush Performance is. Roush was quick to show off their take on the 2015 Mustang when it first debuted, offering a unique look and performance abilities that allows it to fit in with past Roush Mustangs.

Roush Performance continues to develop new, higher performance packages for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. In fact Roush has just published a You Tube video showing off their Phase 1 supercharged package at work on the dyno. The result of this package is more than enough power to make a Hellcat Challenger owner blush and for less money.

Features of the Roush Mustang GT Phase 1 Package

The video of the 2015 Ford Mustang GT with the Roush Phase 1 package shows how bringing together the right combination yields the best possible power output. As a result, this monster of a Mustang makes on 93 octane 747 horsepower and 599lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Also you can see that during the three dyno pulls, the Phase 1 Roush Mustang GT worst figures were 710 horsepower and 547lb-ft of torque – which are still pretty impressive numbers.

Figuring that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat makes around 645 horsepower and 585lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels in stock form with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The Roush Phase 1 Mustang GT shown in the video below weights less than the Challenger while having around 100 more horsepower at the rear wheels.

Roush Mustang Gives Hellcat a run for it's money

While the price of the actual car in the video below hasn’t been stated by Roush, it is known that the Roush Stage 3/Phase 1 supercharger package for the 2015 Ford Mustang starts at $21,995. When you add that to the base price of the 2015 Mustang GT of $33,125, you get a total price of $55,120. With the Hellcat Challenger starting around $60,000, that means that the Roush Mustang GT would be a better deal and performer.

Well the Roush package is an aftermarket option, the Hellcat is a ready-to-go, factory built muscle car. However, with the Hellcat Challenger currently setting the bar for the entire muscle car segment, it will be the vehicle by which all others are compared to and if you are a 2015 Mustang GT owner, the Roush Stage 3/Phase 1 package should give you enough power to beat up the "wicked" Mopar muscle car.

Expected 1/4 Mile Time

Tuners expect that this Roush Mustang will run a high 9 second to low 10 second 1/4 mile pass. Time will soon tell if this holds true. Based on previous builds these times shouldn't be an issue to achieve.
