2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Sets Record Time at Nurburgring
Brand New 6th Gen 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Runs 7:23 On Nürburgring Nordschleife Road Course
Since they new Gen 6 Camaro was released they're have been plenty of videos surface from the first 9 second 1/4 mile 2016 Camaro SS, to the 2016 Copo Camaro's first 8 second 1/4 mile pass, the worlds first twin-turbo 2016 Camaro SS, to all kinds of road course testing videos like the one we'll see below. Our latest breaking news is of the 2017 Camaro ZL1 setting a record time at the 12.9 mile long Nurburgring Test Track in Germany. Well this has not yet officially been announced by GM, this will bring some speculation as to if it's true or not, but we'll explain below why this time could easily be true. CamaroNews recently stated that the Wikipedia information page for "List of Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times" says that recently the all new 2017 supercharged Camaro ZL1 clocked off a lap time of 7 minutes and 23 seconds. That's 14 seconds faster than the previous 2014 Camaro Z/28 track record.
2017 Camaro ZL1 Nurburgring Track Time Proof
Now, understand that there will certainly be skeptics of this unofficial lap time for the new supercharged 2017 Camaro ZL1, as anyone could have simply made up that time and plugged it into the Wikipedia system without any sort of proof. But with some explanation this time seems that it could be legitimate time. While this could be fake, it's creating some interesting discussion with the automotive world at this time.
Now lets explain how this 7:23:77 lap time for the 2017 ZL1 could be legit. This lap time makes the 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 faster than a 2009 Corvette ZR1, the all new BMW M4 GTZ, the Ferrari Enzo, the McLaren MP4-12C along with a bunch of other very expensive cars. This time beats the 2014 Camaro Z/28 by 14 seconds also making the ZL1 the fasted muscle car to every go around the Nurburgring. Now compared to the official time of the 2014 Z/28 of 7:41, take into consideration the 2017 Camaro ZL1 is smaller, lighter, more aerodynamic and has 640 horsepower and 640lb-ft of torque. The Z/28 has 505 horsepower and 556lb-ft of torque. Without question on paper this new Camaro should at least get down the Nurburgring's long straight aways much faster. It has also been known to the public that GM's recent goals were to moving the Camaro into Corvette performance territory while pushing the Corvette into true "supercar" territory. This all make sense, especially with he current rumored mid engine Corvette.
So you can take this information has true or false, but at least the all new 2017 Supercharged Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 cannot be denied as a bad ass muscle car.
