2017 Camaro SS 1LE vs SS What’s The Difference?
The Camaro 1LE has always been a performance driven package aimed for the guys that want to race at the track on the weekends. First launched in 1989 the 1LE performance package was hush-hush. It was available with a 305ci LB9 5 speed manual or 350ci L98 Automatic on the RS and IROC-Z models. The original package included an engine oil-cooler, 4-wheel disc brakes, dual catalytic converters and ZR rated tires for the "larger" 16 x 8 inch wheels. On the 2017 Camaro 1LE the package cost $6,500 and offers quite a bit more than it first did in 1989.
The main differences at first sight is the appearance, the hood, ground effects, rear spoiler, wheels, 6 piston front brakes with a 2 piece setup which makes for amazing stopping power. As for performance it does have the same 6.2 liter 455 horsepower V8 as all the other Camaro SS's along with an upgraded suspension and interior.
